So here I am, it's Bank Holiday in the UK, very warm and I have chosen to write this blog post. That's a conscious decision I've made.
We make decisions like that all day long about what to eat or wear, where to go, who to talk to and so on. We also make decisions unconsciously and these, too, are a choice. We choose to breathe. We choose to allow our hearts to beat and pump blood. When we eat we choose to swallow. These are all unconscious choices which we could also choose NOT to do, although that wouldn't be advisable!
The same goes for when we want to be prosperous. We choose actions which will either help or hinder us, depending on the route we take. For example I used to have certain views about being wealthy based on where I grew up and, later, on a certain religious ideology. I grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, during a time now better known as The Troubles. In my mind, based on TV reports, The Troubles were being supported by very wealthy business people supporting one side or the other through funding which was used to buy weapons and explosives which, in turn, was used to indiscriminately kill innocent people - including children.Later, when I got involved with a religious movement who were dead against materialism and really frowned on anyone wanting to become a success in what they termed The World, I bought into that way of thinking because of my experience growing up in Belfast. I used to even state that I hated money with a passion.
The result of these experiences, and others related to them, resulted in me obviously never having money for long. In one hand and out the other as quickly as possible. The only time I saved was when it was done for me and as soon as I had access to that, which amounted to about $3,000 at the time, it was gone withing a few weeks.
It was my choice to believe what I did, my choice to act as I did, my choice to self-sabotage myself all those years. Knowing what I know now do I regret those actions, beliefs and so on? No, those are my experiences and I've learned from them. Obviously it would be great to go back in time and rectify everything however, in all honesty, I'm not sure I would.
Prosperity is a choice and that brings me to this video where Randy Gage explains just that and which inspired me to write this post. Enjoy!
