Hands up if this is you: You have a dream, or a desire, and
you would really like to achieve it and then you tell yourself that it probably
won’t happen because you’re too old or too fat or too young or broke or it’s out
of your league – does that sound familiar? In this post I’m sharing two tools
which will allow you to get rid of any doubts like that and stop them from scuppering
your dreams.
Doubts are dream killers, desire sinkers, goal blockers. Even
the smallest of niggly little doubts can throw up a wall stopping you in your
tracks. Even the smallest of doubts can, and do, keep you from achieving
anything worthwhile in your life. They can stop you from applying for that great
job, from getting to know your soulmate, from passing your driving test,
getting that promotion and – well, I’m sure you get the idea.
So why do we have doubts if they seemingly have nothing better
to do than stop us from doing the stuff we want? Well not all doubts are
negative, there are those which are positive and actually protect us. Doubts come
from our subconscious minds and form part of our Fight or Flight system and
back when we had more to worry about than who’s saying what about us on
Facebook, they helped to prevent us from wild beasts, rival tribes and eating weird
plants. They created a wariness for certain potentially dangerous situations
and worked with our intuition to keep us from harm.
In our modern age they still carry out similar duties and can
protect us from all kinds of dangers – still plenty of baddies and weird plants
out there! However, as such, they also do their best to keep us in our
Comfort Zones so when we want to try something new, in kicks our subconscious minds
with a little niggle or two. If we take notice of them, and we mostly do, we
use the doubt as an excuse, as a justification for not doing what we really
want to do. My hunch is, many of you are nodding your heads right now and are
asking, “Well what can we do to stop
these doubts?”
In his book “Law of Attraction”, Michael Losier lists 10
Allowing Tools which are designed for that very purpose. I’m going to share one
of the tools from the book plus another which isn’t on the list. Are you ready
to plug that hole and get sailing off into your desired new adventure?
This first Allowing Tool is simply called Allowing Statements. Here’s how they work.
Let’s say you’ve started a new business and you’re in the
process of attracting your ideal clients and you’ve written Desire Statements
to that effect. As you read through them one of them causes a little doubt to
surface.
For example, it could be “I’m
excited at the thought of serving my ideal clients” or “I love the thought of meeting my ideal clients at Networking Meetings”
but little Doubty Tom pipes up and says – “Yeah, if I get any!” or “As
if that’s going to work! Remember last time when…”
Allowing Statements help to eliminate that doubt by helping
you understand what’s possible. In order for these to work effectively simply follow
these four guidelines:
- Ask: Is
there anyone on the planet having or doing this now?
- If so,
how many today, yesterday, tomorrow, next week etc.
- Make it
believable.
- Exclude
any reference to yourself.
With the above examples in mind, here are a couple of Allowing
Statements around attracting your ideal clients:
Today
someone just met an ideal client at a Networking Meeting.
Around
the world millions of clients are receiving great service.
1000’s of
new business owners in the UK meet their ideal clients at Networking events.
Get the picture?
OK, let’s move on to next Allowing Tool which is called “What I like best about…”
This tool is cool because you get to write lots of positive
stuff about your favourite client, customer, workmate, employee and so on. Here’s
how it works.
Let’s say, in this scenario, you are in the process of
attracting your ideal job. Your feelings about your Desire Statements are
pretty good, however you would like that little bit of added assurance – just in
case (Note the Doubt here?). You have a good idea of how your ideal job should
fit into your life, so you take a sheet of paper and you write the heading: Here’s what I like about my ideal job (obviously
you would be a bit more specific). Then list what you expect or want, for
example:
I love
that my boss really cares about their staff
I get
paid well
My hours
are flexible and I can take care of the children easily
The work
is very enjoyable
There are
great opportunities for promotion
And so on.
The thing is, the Law of Attraction doesn’t know if you’re
writing fantasy or truth, it doesn’t see what you’re writing, hear what you’re
saying or know what you’re thinking. It only knows what you are feeling, what
you are vibrating, about any given situation or thing or person and will strive
to match that vibration because that’s its job description: Match Vibrations.
That means you can use these tools, and the others in Michael’s
book, to help attract anything you want into your life – providing you are
prepared to Allow it and trust the Law of Attraction to orchestrate and unfold
whatever needs to happen to attract and allow your Desires to sail into your
port. Allowing tools help provide proof and proof always conquers doubts and
stops your dreams from being scuppered.
Until next time
