Are You Playing Goal Ketchup?

Did I say Ketchup? I actually mean Catch-Up, however in this short video it sounds like I’m saying ‘Ketchup’!

As I say in the video, we tend to focus on the end result of goal setting, the achieving part and that’s what we celebrate. However, as I’ve mentioned before, we should also celebrate the little milestones along the way.

Now obviously I’m not talking about huge celebrations like an all-nighter at ‘Lulu’s Dive’ or something, no I’m talking about acknowledging the Matches and small achievements, the little results which show you’re on the right track, that kind of stuff. I believe that to be every bit as important as the major celebration when you achieve your end goal.

So how to celebrate? Well, that could be as simple as writing your Matches, or close results - however great or small – in a daily Journal. That’s what I do. Every day I make a note of any Matches on a Post-It note and then each morning I celebrate by writing them into my daily journal and being grateful for all those achievements. You’ll be surprised how satisfying that feels!

Thing is, and this is where the ‘Ketchup’ comes in, if you only focus on the end game, the end result, you are indeed constantly playing Catch-Up because you keep asking yourself: “Am I/we there yet? Why not? When will I/we get there?” and so on – chasing after busses, as I said in the video, and that ain’t fun!

Playing Goal ‘Ketchup’ is, in my opinion, setting yourself up for failure and you’ll end up beating yourself up for under achieving. By celebrating your daily Matches – and they don’t even have to be directly related to your goals – you build the expectation gradually along the way and should it turn out you don’t realise your goal, you can at least see all the smaller achievements along the way and build on them for next time. It’s great for confidence building as well.

So, if you’re not a Ketchup fan, now you know what to do!

Until next time,

Sometimes You Just Have to Take a Time Out

I burned out in 2014 and a lot of that had to do with the Hustle & Grind that’s so popular today. I’ve now learned to leave the chasing after Unicorns to others, that’s not my journey.

In November 2014 I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety issues. I ended up taking 2 months off work and then going back much too early thinking I could cope. However, although my then working environment played a part in the run up to that, it wasn’t the only factor. It was a culmination of years of just simply doing too much and pushing myself too hard and beating myself to bits because I wasn’t getting the results I expected.

For years I had a full-time job plus a Network Marketing Business plus a Reiki & Coaching practice plus a few other things as well. I Hustled and Grinded all my spare time – long hours creating posts, blog content, emails, dealing with leads (most of which were useless), attending several Business Networking events a week, weekend conferences, numerous webinars and workshops and training and… and… and…! My hunch is there are many of you out there who can identify with that.

I guess If I had been getting the results I wanted then the story would have been different – I’d be writing about my success and how I got them and so on. Truth is, I failed every time. No matter what I tried it ended up as a dead-end street. That just increased the frustration because I knew I was doing all the right things, making all the right noises and yet - Nada! (My Spidey Sense is saying that there’s one or two out there who have, or still are, experiencing exactly that.) So, in 2015 I basically took a step back, but not through choice.

I burned out - not massively, but enough. After returning to my former work I had another attack a couple of months later. You know those messages the Universe sends you from time to time, sometimes very subtle, other times like someone’s smacked you with a plank of wood? This was one of the latter and I didn’t go back to that environment. I found other work, not the best of jobs but it paid bills. Gave me time to get myself together.

I was still involved with my Network Marketing and Coaching, but my heart was no longer in it. The passion had gone, I was just going through the motions. In fact, I was only going to the B2B meetings for the social aspect! In time that went too as my membership ran out and I could no longer afford to renew it. So, I retreated further and by the end of 2016 I had come to pretty much a standstill – apart from some ‘Stick Poking’ and ‘Face Showing’ activities.

Bringing things up to the present, I feel I have fully recovered, truly recharged my batteries and can now see a much brighter future ahead. That has a lot to do with the way I now view things. I can now see that, back then, I was pushing myself too hard – out of desperation and need rather than providing a value driven service. Now I have a much more relaxed approach and I believe that has a lot to do with the recent Law of Attraction training I’ve been exposed to and how it’s become an integral part of how I live today.

I have a renewed passion, however it’s way less ego based than before, my perspective has changed – less Self, more Others. “How can I best be of service today?” is what I now ask rather than “Who can I sponsor into my team?” or “How many clients am I aiming for this week?” and leave all the ‘Workings Out’ to the Universe.

That’s not to say I no longer have goals, because I do, however the pressure to achieve them is no longer there. I no longer chase after them and beat myself up because I didn’t reach them. Some goals I haven’t even put a date on! I give them the Attention they deserve and Allow them to happen and guess what? I am getting results and they are the results which are ideal for me.

So, Hustle & Grind all you want if that’s your thing. If it’s working, then Cool Beans! If not, them maybe a different approach would be more ideal.

Until next time,

Law of Attraction is Adversely Affecting my Diabetes!

Yes, I am certain the Law of Attraction is most definitely affecting my Diabetes in an adverse way – and I’m so happy about that!

Have I gone crazy? Lost the plot? No, not in a million years! By adversely affecting my Diabetes I mean it is helping to reduce the effects and I believe by doing so, the Law of Attraction is helping me get my life back. Let me explain.

In 2001 I was diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic. Since then I’m having to inject myself with two types of insulin; one longer lasting which works in the background and lasts 24 hours and a faster acting insulin for mealtimes and when I go out socialising. Now I lead a pretty normal life as it is, I basically eat and drink whatever I want however in moderate amounts. OK, I do overdo it once in a while, but that’s being human.

Up until May 2007 I lived and worked in Germany, which is where I was diagnosed and started my treatment. The only adverse effect was my nervous system which had to be basically rebuilt and that took a very painful year to complete. However, there was no weight gain, little numbness, no eyesight issues and the like.

By the end of 2007, after being in the UK for 7 months, I had - in my mind - ballooned from a slim 67 kg up to 85 kg – with the belly to match! Beer and crisps did a lot of the damage, but also general food items like bread and processed meats which contain a lot of sugars and starch. After a rejig of my diet I managed to get that down to a manageable 73 kg – still too much.

My eyesight also started to deteriorate, and I’ve had to have several laser surgeries to dry up leakages on my retina and also steroid injections in my right eye to help prevent a fluid leakage close to my pupil. My vision in that eye is distorted as a result, everything is kind of warped a bit.

Numbness in my feet and legs, more especially my left leg, has increased and I also had to increase the dosage of both my longer lasting and fast-acting insulin and start taking medication to help with cholesterol. Would this have happened if I’d stayed in Germany? Perhaps, perhaps not, however I do believe it wouldn’t have happened as quickly. We really need to take a serious look at the ingredients we use in our food in UK as well as what we eat too much of. Moderation is key – that choice is, of course, ours to make.

So, what’s changed so much that I’ve felt compelled to write this post? Weight down, eyesight improved, less insulin intake and more feeling in my legs and feet – all since the start of this year, 1 Jan, when I started learning and implementing the Law of Attraction strategies as taught by Michael Losier.

My weight has dropped from 80.4 kg to, at the time of writing, 77.5 kg – with only walking as my exercise of choice. I’m not a big gym or swimming fan, running causes knee issues so walking briskly most days for 30 – 40 minutes does it for me.

Just about a year ago I got new specs as it seemed my eyesight was getting poorer, I have now – since last week – gone back to my old pair which I first got in 2011! A significant improvement.

My insulin intake has decreased dramatically. At the start of the year I was injecting 70 units of the longer lasting insulin per day – currently that is down to 36 units with a possible further downward adjustment to come. My fast-acting insulin I’ve reduced from around 24 units per day (spread across mealtimes etc) to an average of 16 units - my diet hasn't changed.

The numbness in my left leg has decreased slightly, certainly detecting more feeling in my toes especially. My right leg has always been pretty much ok.

Is this really all down to Law of Attraction? Obviously, I’m unable to say that categorically, I haven’t taken part in any clinical trials or the like, however my Diabetes Consultant and Nurse have noticed positive changes in my blood sugar readings and eyesight, so it has been recorded. It is my firm belief that Law of Attraction has played a major part in this, along with other tools I’ve implemented such as meditation and visualisation, all of which are connected to LOA.

Law of Attraction works, simple as. Tens of thousands around the world are testifying to that. What I’ve been learning about self-healing using LOA and other techniques is mind blowing, far out in some cases, but they work, and scientists are starting to realise that. Just a matter of time before what I’ve related anecdotally here will be stated as fact in some medical journal - it already is in Peer Reviewed papers, studies not published in mainstream journals but accepted amongst the scientific community.

So, now you know why I’m so happy that Law of Attraction is having such an adverse effect on my Diabetes and long may it continue!

Revel in the Glory of Your Abundance!

When you celebrate a goal you’ve achieved, it’s a great feeling isn’t it? All that hard work and consistent action finally paying off, all frustrations wiped from memory in that glorious moment. Perhaps, especially if it was a major goal, you’ve celebrated a few milestones along the way, and that’s a great thing to do. However, what about the time in between the milestones? Did you celebrate that?

Something I’ve learned in more recent times is to acknowledge whatever I am attracting into my life, regardless whether that’s positive or negative. However, for the purposes of this post, I’ll focus on the positive attraction.

By ‘acknowledging’ I mean taking ownership of whatever comes into your life that you are giving time, energy or attention to. So, that humongous goal you’re striving to achieve may be broken down into milestones, as mentioned above, however there’s lots of stuff in between to be aware of as well. These are all messages that the Law of Attraction is working on your behalf and if you ignore them, well that could have a detrimental effect on your goal – either it takes longer than planned to reach or doesn’t happen at all. And these messages can be subtle, seemingly insignificant or obvious in-your-face ones, so it pays to be aware.

I keep an Abundance Journal to keep a daily track of what I’ve attracted. I note everything down which may or may not be relevant such as a great shopping deal, a chance meeting with a prospective client, receiving information leading to a possibly fortuitous opportunity, a free cup of coffee – anything which I feel I have attracted. I jot them down then write them into my daily journal every morning and also express gratitude for them. I have also used the Abundance Journal provided by Michael Losier, which you can download from the link below.

In this way I am celebrating my Attractability, revelling in the glory of my abundance, no matter how small or great. By doing this I’m still keeping my main goal – or goals - in mind, thus giving them attention and celebrating the journey instead of feeling like I’m playing catch up because I’m not there yet.

Why not try it for a month, see how it feels and if it provides the results you want well, all the better!

Allowing Even a Little Doubt Can Scupper a Big Dream

Hands up if this is you: You have a dream, or a desire, and you would really like to achieve it and then you tell yourself that it probably won’t happen because you’re too old or too fat or too young or broke or it’s out of your league – does that sound familiar? In this post I’m sharing two tools which will allow you to get rid of any doubts like that and stop them from scuppering your dreams.

Doubts are dream killers, desire sinkers, goal blockers. Even the smallest of niggly little doubts can throw up a wall stopping you in your tracks. Even the smallest of doubts can, and do, keep you from achieving anything worthwhile in your life. They can stop you from applying for that great job, from getting to know your soulmate, from passing your driving test, getting that promotion and – well, I’m sure you get the idea.

So why do we have doubts if they seemingly have nothing better to do than stop us from doing the stuff we want? Well not all doubts are negative, there are those which are positive and actually protect us. Doubts come from our subconscious minds and form part of our Fight or Flight system and back when we had more to worry about than who’s saying what about us on Facebook, they helped to prevent us from wild beasts, rival tribes and eating weird plants. They created a wariness for certain potentially dangerous situations and worked with our intuition to keep us from harm.

In our modern age they still carry out similar duties and can protect us from all kinds of dangers – still plenty of baddies and weird plants out there! However, as such, they also do their best to keep us in our Comfort Zones so when we want to try something new, in kicks our subconscious minds with a little niggle or two. If we take notice of them, and we mostly do, we use the doubt as an excuse, as a justification for not doing what we really want to do. My hunch is, many of you are nodding your heads right now and are asking, “Well what can we do to stop these doubts?”

In his book “Law of Attraction”, Michael Losier lists 10 Allowing Tools which are designed for that very purpose. I’m going to share one of the tools from the book plus another which isn’t on the list. Are you ready to plug that hole and get sailing off into your desired new adventure?

This first Allowing Tool is simply called Allowing Statements. Here’s how they work.
Let’s say you’ve started a new business and you’re in the process of attracting your ideal clients and you’ve written Desire Statements to that effect. As you read through them one of them causes a little doubt to surface.

For example, it could be “I’m excited at the thought of serving my ideal clients” or “I love the thought of meeting my ideal clients at Networking Meetings” but little Doubty Tom pipes up and says – “Yeah, if I get any!” or “As if that’s going to work! Remember last time when…”

Allowing Statements help to eliminate that doubt by helping you understand what’s possible. In order for these to work effectively simply follow these four guidelines:

  1.      Ask: Is there anyone on the planet having or doing this now?
  2.  If so, how many today, yesterday, tomorrow, next week etc.
  3. Make it believable.
  4. Exclude any reference to yourself.

With the above examples in mind, here are a couple of Allowing Statements around attracting your ideal clients:

Today someone just met an ideal client at a Networking Meeting.
Around the world millions of clients are receiving great service.
1000’s of new business owners in the UK meet their ideal clients at Networking events.

Get the picture?

OK, let’s move on to next Allowing Tool  which is called “What I like best about…”

This tool is cool because you get to write lots of positive stuff about your favourite client, customer, workmate, employee and so on. Here’s how it works.

Let’s say, in this scenario, you are in the process of attracting your ideal job. Your feelings about your Desire Statements are pretty good, however you would like that little bit of added assurance – just in case (Note the Doubt here?). You have a good idea of how your ideal job should fit into your life, so you take a sheet of paper and you write the heading: Here’s what I like about my ideal job (obviously you would be a bit more specific). Then list what you expect or want, for example:

I love that my boss really cares about  their staff
I get paid well
My hours are flexible and I can take care of the children easily
The work is very enjoyable
There are great opportunities for promotion

And so on.

The thing is, the Law of Attraction doesn’t know if you’re writing fantasy or truth, it doesn’t see what you’re writing, hear what you’re saying or know what you’re thinking. It only knows what you are feeling, what you are vibrating, about any given situation or thing or person and will strive to match that vibration because that’s its job description: Match Vibrations.

That means you can use these tools, and the others in Michael’s book, to help attract anything you want into your life – providing you are prepared to Allow it and trust the Law of Attraction to orchestrate and unfold whatever needs to happen to attract and allow your Desires to sail into your port. Allowing tools help provide proof and proof always conquers doubts and stops your dreams from being scuppered.

Until next time

Transforming Desires into Reality

For many affirmations just don’t work and it causes a lot of frustration. That was certainly the case with me until I discovered Declarative Statements and stopped sabotaging my positive intentions.

Firstly, what are Affirmations? They are positive statements set in the present tense. An example of an affirmation is:

“I am so happy and grateful now I am enjoying an amazing level of fitness and health.”

Is there anything wrong with that? On the face of it no, it seems perfectly ok. Two things, however, need to be considered here. Firstly, from the aspect of The Universe where you are claiming to be already fit and healthy, so the said Universe says:

“OK, you’ve got what you want, job done.”

Secondly, from a Law of Attraction perspective, your subconscious mind would create an opposing statement because it knows what you’re saying isn’t exactly true, for example:

“Dude, I saw you in the mirror this morning and you are far from being fit and healthy!”

Don’t get me wrong, affirmations do work for some, just not for all. Also, as in my case, you may experience some changes but not the changes you were expecting. Until I discovered Declarative Statements I had been using affirmations on a daily basis for almost 30 years. I would print them onto A4 sheets of paper and stick them in all the recommended strategic places. I would memorise them, repeating them often throughout the day and before sleeping at night. Yet, still no financial freedom, nice home, dream car and so on. I did, however, develop great positive habits and thinking!

My hunch is that you’ve experienced something similar and maybe you’ve even given up on affirmations altogether, thinking they’re a waste of time or that perhaps you aren’t ‘destined’ to have a great life. Am I right?

With that in mind, what can we say to a) allow the Law of Attraction to attract a positive result and b) prevent our subconscious minds from sabotaging our efforts? That’s where Declarative Statements come in and this is how they work.

Remember, our words form the thoughts which create the vibrations (moods or feelings) - either positive or negative – which attract our results – again either positive or negative. Therefore, if we want to change our results we need to change our vibrations and to change our vibrations we need to change our thoughts and to change our thoughts we need to change the words we’re using.

A Declarative Statement is essentially a re-framed affirmation which raises your vibration. Instead of stating “I Am…” or similar use “I’m in the process of…” and fill in the blank. For example, if you wanted to attract a much healthier lifestyle you could say:

“I’m in the process of attracting a fitter and healthier lifestyle through healthy eating and regular exercise.”

Even though you’re not stating a ‘clear intention’ as some purists might say, nevertheless this re-framed wording is accepted by the subconscious mind as truth and a positive vibe is sent out to be matched by the Law of Attraction which, in turn, will attract whatever information, strategies, support, opportunities you need to get, in this example, fitter and healthier.

What I’ve shared here is a stripped-down version of what I teach in my Deliberate Attraction Strategy Workshops where I go into more detail however, a simple Declarative Statement such as the one above will work just as well.

I now use these all the time and am enjoying some surprising results and it’s my intention for you to use Declarative Statements instead of Affirmations, so you can stop self-sabotaging your positive actions and truly transform your desires into reality.

So What do I Want?

Let’s face it, we all know what we don’t want, right? Yet when it comes to knowing what we do want, we tend to be a bit unsure. Wouldn’t it be nice to have some clarity on that?

If I said to you “List 10 things you don’t like about your current work”, you would most likely have that list ready in a few minutes! If I then said, “Now list 10 things you Like about your current work”, that would get you humming and ha-ing and it would probably take you twice as long, that’s if you even complete the list. That’s down to how our subconscious mind works, it’s easier to focus on the negative rather than the positive. Now obviously that isn’t the norm for everyone, there are always exceptions, but for the many it is indeed the case.

So, does that mean only a few will ever know for sure what they really want in life or business? Nope, because there is a way to shortcut that thinking, to kind of reverse engineer it so that you gain Clarity from your Contrast, your contrast being that which you don’t want.
Part of what I teach people is to do just that. A lot of the contrast we have in business, or life, has to do with three little words which, once eliminated, can produce a lot of clarity, help you gain certainty about what you really want to achieve. Those words are “Don’t”, “Not” and “No”. So, how does it work?

If you are saying things like “I don’t want unreliable clients” “No worries” “I’m not as successful as I would like to be” or similar, you are creating negative vibrations which the Law of Attraction is matching and thus, you get the Contrast you don’t want and not the Clarity or positive results you do want.

Now, some of you are reading this and a little voice is saying, how on earth do I eliminate Don’t, Not and No from my vocabulary, it’s impossible! To an extent that’s true, it’s more to do with how you use them. As you can see in the last paragraph, I used Don’t and Not, however not (there I go again) in a statement of intent.

There’s a very simple tool you can use to help you, at the very least, reduce the use of Don’t, Not and No and that is to ask “Well, what do I want?”. Immediately, as soon as you say that, the vibe changes and you start thinking in a more positive way as you contemplate a positive solution, thus gaining Clarity. Feels great, doesn’t it?

Now have some fun with it. Every time you catch yourself using Don’t, Not or No, ask yourself “Well, what do I want?” Like anything that’s practised, it will become automatic in time and you will have created a very useful habit helping you gain Clarity from your Contrast.

Smell the Coffee

There’s just something about the smell of freshly brewed coffee or frying bacon in the morning that muesli and green juice are unable to compete with when it comes to getting people out of bed. What’s even better is having something worthwhile for getting out of bed for.

For many they either wake up with dread or grumbling acceptance and drag themselves into the bathroom to wash away the pleasant dreams and start another day of perceived drudgery. A few, however, leap out of bed ready to grab the day by the proverbial horns and can’t wait to see what the new day has in store for them.

The latter have a passion, a reason for being, a WHY, a purpose in life which keeps them fired up every day and makes their lives enjoyable and positive. They truly enjoy what they do because their Fulfilment Needs are being met, regardless whether they work for someone else or for themselves. They know their Life’s Purpose and have the strategies in place to achieve it.

Now that’s the age-old question, isn’t it? Just what is our Life’s Purpose? Most people will, when asked, say that their Life’s Purpose is their kids or family, to help others, time or financial freedom or something else along those lines. These are noble goals, however there’s more to it than that. Ask yourself what happens once you have achieved your Why? What then? How would you feel?

In his book, “Your Life’s Purpose”, Michael Losier states it quite clearly – our sole Life’s Purpose is to have Joy. Nothing more, nothing less. You can also call it Happiness, Bliss or by some other term, however Joy is probably the best description.
Problem is most of us never quite get there. We might have the money and time, but not that deep sense of contentment. We might be helping others but forget to help ourselves. We might really enjoy our work but feel there’s something missing. That’s because we haven’t got the correct strategies in place or we are chasing the wrong ones and wonder why we don’t feel that Joy, that Inner Peace. Using Michael’s book, I help people uncover their Top 4 Fulfilment Needs and it always creates surprises.

They can then use these Fulfilment Needs as a sort of measuring stick when it comes to making major decisions about career choice, relationships, performance enhancement, client attraction and other areas of Business and life. Since I uncovered mine I certainly haven’t looked back and am now in the process of using them, plus other Law of Attraction strategies and tools, to attract and create the life I want and not the one others believe I should have.

Want to uncover your Top 4 Fulfilment Needs? I can help you with that or, if you prefer, click on the link below and get Michael’s book.
